There are two major beaches in Alanya; East beach and Cleopatra beach, the beaches are separated by the Alanya cliff which is 300 meters high. Cleopatra Beach is located west of the cliff and East Beach to the east. On both beaches it is possible to rent a deck chair for a small amount. Toilet and shower are also available. If you want to try water activities such as jet skiing, parasailing, banana boating or pedal boating, you can also do it. Cleopatra Beach is the most popular beach in Alanya and is named after the Egyptian queen of the same name who is said to have stopped here for a dip. The beach is 2 km long and consists of fine-grained white sand. During really hot days, however, the sand can become hot, so a tip is to buy a bath mattress and put it under the sun towel and to keep the flip flop on so as not to burn yourself. The water gets deep quite quickly, so if you have children with you, you should pay extra attention. On Cleopatra Beach there are small beach bars where you can buy food and drink and it also usually goes around vendors and sells food down on the beach. The eastern shore is located as the name suggests on the eastern side of Alanya Rock. The beach is 5 km long and consists of gravel and pebbles. Here, too, it can get very hot when walking barefoot during hot summer days. As it is very shallow in the water, this beach is suitable for families with children. At the eastern beach there are many restaurants and bars so you do not have to go hungry or thirsty.
